Frequently Asked
Questions
What is voicemail?
Voice mail is similar to email, but instead of typing out text you
can just speak out your mail.
Will I need a sound card to listen to the audio?
Yes you will need a sound card with good speakers to hear messages
when they are played and a microphone to record your messages. For

How different is Voice Snap from Msn or other messenger services?
Voice Snap is a "Store and Forward" technology. Thus Voice Snap does
not suffer from distortions due to low bandwidth. Both parties need
not be online at the same time. A recording of the voice message is
present locally and on the server to enable future reference.
What are the languages that are compatible with Voice Snap?
Since it is a voice messaging system, there is no language
constraint. Users can speak in a language they are most comfortable
in.
How many messages can I send or receive in a month?
The most attractive feature of Voice Snap is its unlimited
messaging. Users can send and receive any number of messages
irrespective of the plan they subscribe to. They will continue to
send and receive messages as long as their account stays valid.
Does the recipient also need to download the Voice Snap mail
client?
Not necessary. The recipient need not even be a registered Voice
Snap user. The voice mail can be sent to any email id. The only
disadvantage would be that the recipients cannot reply in voice
without using a Voice Snap client. They would have to reply in text.
Do I need an Internet connection to use Voice Snap?
Since the Voice Snap client will be installed locally in your
computer you need not be online when the message is being composed.
Any number of messages can be composed offline. Once you are ready
to send the messages you can connect to the internet and send all
the messages in one stroke. Thus you can keep your phone unoccupied
when you are composing messages saving precious internet time. This
will also prevent you from missing important telephone calls.
Will it cost more to send a voicemail to a person living in
Europe or in The United States?
No, it will not cost you more. Voice Snap is governed only by email
addresses and it does not matter where the person lives. So it will
cost the same to voicemail your neighbor and your relative living
elsewhere.
I am not able to record my voice but able to listen to inbound messages
The most common problem could be that you wouldn't have plugged the microphone Jack in the right socket. If you are not sue please call your hardware engineer.
Another reason could be that the microphone settings in the Volume Control would have been muted. Some Windows application does this without you manually doing it. So first locate the volume icon; usually you will find it near where the time is displayed (right bottom of your computer screen). Double click on this volume icon and a new window with Volume Control will open up. Look for Microphone in that Window. If it is muted check the mute button out.
