Problem
With Windows 2000 and in some
releases of XP you may encounter the following error at the time of
installing Voice Snap's VS2.
C:\Windows\System32\AUTOEXEC.NT.
The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft
Windows applications.
Choose 'Close' to terminate this application.
Solution
If you run into this or similar "WOW DVM" errors when
installing VS2 into Windows NT it's because one of the
following files is missing from \WINNT\System32:
- Config.nt
- Autoexec.nt
- Command.com
Check to see that these files are
there. If not, expand them from the install CD and copy them to
\WINNT\System32
They'll be in the \I386 folder as
Config.nt_
autoexec.nt_
command.co_
From a command prompt window, type
Expand /?
to get instructions for using
Expand
Find
more info from MS about this here
Problem
You
installed VS2 successfully but the program does not communicate to
the server
Solution
Check if
any firewall or an anti-virus program like Norton anti-Virus, McCafee etc. is
preventing VS2 to communicate over the internet. You have to tell
the anti-virus program that VS2 is a safe program and allow VS2 to
communicate through the internet to talk to the server.
Problem
"Unable to insert
data" or "Database Corrupt" message
Solution
check if the
short-date format in your desktop/laptop is set to mm/dd/yyyy (that
is month, day, year) format. You can set this at : Start | Settings
| Control Panel | Regional Options | Date (tab)
Also ensure that
the Time format is set to hh:mm:ss:tt under Start | Settings |
Control Panel | Regional Options | Time (tab)
Problem
Recipient is not
able to hear my voice from an email
Solution
Your recipient's
machine should have JVM (Java Virtual Machine) installed and should
be running MS Windows Operating System with Internet Explorer 5.5 or
above. Sometimes with all these in place, still the recipient may
complain that the audio is not playing on his system. This is purely
a problem with JVM not working well with Microsoft Internet
Explorer. We humbly request you to encourage your recipient to
switch to Voice Snap, the same way you did to listen and reply back
to your messages in Voice.
